The spa break 'Break Away with Me' was a wonderful treat for my mum and me, especially after welcoming my son two years ago. We enjoyed fantastic service, an very nice Inner Calm massage, and delicious meals that accommodated my gluten-free needs. The hotel’s stunning views, lovely staff, and the relaxing spa facilities made for a nice girly weekend. Highly recommend!

Spacious good value hotel with an amazing and spectacular location close enough to an island on a lake and the lake and Waterton Park. New-fashioned and airy rooms with a 4 poster bed, relaxing stay...

Everything was very good, accommodating staff, fabulous views of the lake. This accommodation had a remote setting separate to restaurant. Besides, it was really close to an island and the lake.

We liked every thing about the hotel. The staff were really friendly, helpful, pleasant and efficient, from check in to check out. The booking was a surprise gift for us, everything was seemless. We attended a Wedding, everything was so well organised. It was a beautiful setting.

great access to parks and scenic walking paths
I had an amazing getaway here, with easy access to beautiful nearby parks like Haw Park Wood and Newmiller Dam, perfect for a weekend stroll or a leisurely afternoon. The staff were friendly, and I really appreciated the lovely swimming pool facilities available to guests during certain hours.

I stayed in the old Walton Hall part of the hotel complex, and while in places it may be a little dated and quirky, it is generally a delight and I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are individual and often spacious, and will depend on how they were customised, given that this was not designed as an hotel originally (I.E. you will love some and be less enthusiastic about others). Generally I can not praise this hotel highly enough. As a regular hotel user in Wakefield it is outstanding. The cuisine is excellent and the staff most attentive, and the landscaping including lake is delightful. I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights, and stayed in a double.

Recommend it for a family getaway
Stayed in a cozy cottage with the family. The staff were really accommodating, even let us check in early so we could decorate for a birthday party. The kids loved the leisure facilities and we had a blast at the evening meal in the private dining area, just us and our personal waiter created a special atmosphere.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive but for the quality, I'd say it was worth it.
